UKRAINE FLEXIBILITY - JOYFUL!

FLEXIBILITY WITHOUT GRUMBLING
Within hours how things can get exciting and even complicated! After a 12 hour train ride, our staff member in Ukraine picks me up at the train station and lets me know we need to cross the street immediately as the Assistant Dean of the University is waiting to talk to me about bringing training on the topic of Child Sexual Abuse - something denied in the past as every happening here.  Now, they see the need and are desperate for training....

1 hour meeting and plan is made...for September..

Next he says we need to hurry as there are people at the office waiting for me to discuss how we might partner between a German organization and the work they are doing in Ukraine.  1 hour later and we have a plan....training for their staff.

At the door there is the third meeting of the day - several people (nuns) from Belarus who heard about ou work and wanted to come and get information and materials...done.

Finally - we completed a plan for SOS Children's Villages (likely to be changed - remember FLEXIBILITY)  and that is done.

Then, we get a call from a prospective person we might hire to replace our Annya who is on maternity leave.  She can come right away for an interview...

AND ALL THIS BEFORE NOON....NO SHOWER...12 HOURS ON THE TRAIN....AND A DRIVER WAITING FOR ME TO TAKE ME TO A VILLAGE OUTSIDE OF KIEV FOR THE CONFERENCE STARTING TOMORROW.

REJOICING...just hoping Lynn is doing okay in Kherson and that they do bring him back to Kiev as planned - no flexibility needed there!

Ruby in Kiev!
