SAMARITANS FEET TEAM IN THE MOUNTAINS - SAYING GOOD BYE TO KYRGYZSTAN

SAMARITANS FEET TEAM
SHARING
CARING
LEAVING BLESSINGS FOR ALL

The day in the mountains - at the camp and later to the waterfalls - was a great day with the Samaritans Feet Team from the USA.  We were able to enjoy a full day of sunshine and fellowship.  Shashleke, games, and washing the feet of all our volunteers and staff - were all highlights of the day.  A day that was predicted to be rain all day - was warm, sunny and ever so perfect for this special day.

Sergey preparing the Sashleke fire.  Cooked by Isar and Sergey.

The first batch of Sashleke about 100 sticks in all:  lamb and beef!

One of the wonderful mountain games!

Just sharing some girl time!

One silly guy from Manitoba...still a kid at heart.

Suddenly the rush hour began - sheep, goats, and horses - all guided by shepherds and their
trusty dogs.

Never tire of seeing the mountains.

The walk to the waterfalls is always fun - and the youth did the climb of course.
We just walked to the falls and left the climbing to the "good knees."

Our cooks! and dear friends.

Over 40 for lunch - a great day of thanks!

Just a little fun time with our little Dayspring girls.

Another great mountain game.

Our Ohio - Josh - in a game...he is a GREAT sport and
oh so much fun!

Happiness brings good brain chemistry!

Kristina - just happy!

Cholpon enjoing..

Might this little one find a treasure?

Finger licking good!

Another mountain game.

Intensive and enjoyable.

Just loving her picture taken!

The beauty of Kyrgyzstan cakes...

Washing the feet of our volunteers!

Rush hour continues.

The shepherd.

THANK YOU FOR LOVING OUR YOUTH, OUR VOLUNTEERS AND OUR TEAMS.
WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOU!

TAJIKISTAN IS ONE OF THOSE COUNTRIES YOU KNOW YOU CAN LOVE

TRAINING TRAINERS
WHO CAN
MAKE
DIFFERENCE

"Tajikistan Caring for Orphans and Helping Families"
We left Kyrgyzstan yesterday and flew to Dushanbe, Tajikistan.  From there we drove 6 hours to Kujhand, where we would be doing training of trainers for an organization that is committed to excellence in building the capacity of organizations across the country working with vulnerable children and orphans.

The group of potential trainers will leave our 10 days together - with four curricula they can begin offering:  Phase 1 - Becoming Trauma Informed (18 hour course);  3 hour course on Trauma for Parents; and a 3 hour course on Trauma for Workers.  In addition they will be coached to offer the Life Skills and train others to offer it as well.

We did not travel empty handed - as we brought a full suitcase of books!  Field Guides to Child Welfare, Wounded Children Healing Homes and of course the Life Skill Books.  We will leave trainer guides, power points and electronic version of all the materials with them.  Equipping a nations trainers with tools to make a difference - carrying out Ephesians 4:12-17 and loving the process.

ISKRA MENS HOME - WHERE MEN CAN ENGAGE, SMILE, LAUGH AND LOVE

ISKRA HOME FOR DISABLED MEN

WE HAVE SEEN THEIR JOY AND THEIR
CHARACTER

WE HAVE GROWN TO LOVE THEM ALL

Today, we were joined with "Christy's Team and John's Family" to serve the men at Iskra Mens Home.   We washed over 150 men's feet, gave them new slipper socks and prayer for each one.  We served the medical team, and then went on to serve those who could not join us in the lower level of the facility. In all over 200 were served.  Feet washed, new slipper socks and the love of Jesus shared with all!

Learning names, hearing stories, and sharing God's love was an amazing time with the men.  To see their laughter, their excitement and their genuine character for relationship building was an amazing moment in time.

Here are some pictures of this incredible and blessed day:
